Play. Pause. Rewind. Fast forward. Stop!!

One thing that always seems to confuse me, is that you’ll meet people whom you think are practicing because of the way they portray themselves publicly, then you’ll see those same individuals talking about there favorite shows, how on a certain day of the week at a certain time they have to drop everything to watch that show. Yet those same people don’t hasten to do good things as they rush to watch there shows. This is a sickness in the heart, how could people not see that these shows brainwash people without them knowing it, the ideologies they portray like adultery, affairs, crimes, drugs, music, being naked.. They make all of it seem like its okay, like if you do not indulge in these things you are somehow missing out. How do eyes that read the words of Allah, how do you intentionally let it fall upon things that anger Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) the most? How do you use the blessing of sight Allah gave you to sin against Him? There will come a time where your own body parts will testify against you, and complain to Allah about how you used them. We should be shy infront of Allah, because I swear to you Allah see’s all that you do. We are warned numerous times to lower our gaze as Muslims, why? Because what you see and hear enters your heart, you might wonder why your having trouble memorizing the Quran, why you cant seem to pray Salah and focus during it, why you cant seem to get closer to Allah despite all you do, if that is the case look at your habits, what you do when your alone, when your in seclusion and you feel safe from the eyes of people, what do you watch? ”There will come a time where holding onto your deen will be like holding onto hot coals,” have we not reached that time oh Muslims? By Allah these are the times we are in now, we are being tempted from right, left, and center, and we are weak because we cannot stop ourselves from minor sins and temptations so when something big is thrown our way we fall prey to it. Let us inshaAllah take advantage of the blessings Allah gave us, and use it for Khayr instead of using it to do bad things, let us fear the day where we will be brought accountable for all things we did, and questioned for it. Let us be shy infront of Allah, let us shy away from disobeying Allah. Let us not fall into becoming hypocritical, because we may hide things from humans, but how cursed is the person that forgets Allah is acquainted with all that you do. Let us spend this short time we have doing good, because a day will come where you would have wished that you had just one more day, begging Allah to send you back for just one more day. Let us inshaAllah learn and always strive to be better than we were yesterday. Peace be upon you.

“Whoever does good, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is against it; and your Lord is not in the least unjust to the servants. [41:46]”

Which of Allahs Favors Can We Deny?

A couple of days ago, at my workplace one of my co-workers had a seizure in the middle of our shift. He lost complete control over his body and fell to the ground, everyone in my workplace was panicking and didn’t know what to do, finally I found a paper on seizures and starting screaming the instructions out loud where upon one of my manager starting doing what I told him. SubhanAllah this was a 22 year old man that this happened to, typically by that age people are in control of themselves and can go/speak/do what so ever they desire, but at the most crucial time, there was nothing he could do to help himself. And that’s when it hit me, we go days, months, and some of us years, without realizing how much Allah has blessed us, we take it for granted when there are people that have mental illnesses or other forms of illnesses and can’t help themselves, but Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) has given us health without most of us even asking for it, that is how Merciful Allah is towards us. And think about it, some of these people with deficiencies if Allah had given them health would use it to worship Him, yet we used our health, eyes, mouths, ears, bodies, to transgress against Allah and He still remains Merciful. Wallahi if Allah has given you health, do not fall short in remembering Him and thanking Him, and if Allah has not given you health, do not fall short in thanking Him because Allah knows while you know not, maybe if you had health you would use it to transgress against Allah so Allah is protecting you from a greater evil.

“And if you were to count Allah’s favors, you would not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” [SÅ«rah al-Nahl: 18]
