The Beauty Of Islam

Ali ibn Abu Talib was once asked by a man: “how can a person know if he is from the people [concerned] with this world (Dunya) or from the people [concerned] with the hereafter (Akhirah)?”

He responded: “there is a measurement inside yourself that you can test yourself with to know which side you are on.”

The man asked: “but how?”

Ali replied: “If a person comes to your house to give you a gift, and at the same time another person comes to take something…” so the gift is something tangible, with a bow and all that, while the second person is asking a favor from you.

Ali continued: “If you are more happy with the person that gave you the gift, then you are from the people [concerned] with this world (Dunya); if you are more happy with the person that took from you [a favor, etc] then you are from the people [concerned] with the hereafter (Akhirah).”

Why?

Because the individual is inclined to like the people who give them things that help them in their goals and their desires. If your desire is to accumulate things, possessions, then the gift will satisfy you more, but if you value your place in the hereafter, then, you will be happy that someone has given you the opportunity to help them.

Little to the imagination..

I don’t seem to understand this new trend of being naked or dressing like the opposite sex (women wearing pants, males wearing skinny fit clothing) How is being the eye candy of every prowling pair of eyes beautiful? Has anyone taken the time to realize that when your first born, the first thing they do is cover your whole body? Did you know the Prophet (Peace be upon him) was more shy than a virgin girl on the night of her wedding? Yet we seem to have lost all forms of shyness in our clothing and attire, it seems like we have lost sight of what is important and have sold ourselves to the disgusting social norms of our society. We are in a time where being clothed is seen as something bad, to the extent where you are oppressed if you are not naked, and if your pants are rolled up either your a “hippy” or you have no “swag.” Us, as Muslims, are also to blame for this. We look down on our own people instead of giving them the respect they deserve we decide to put them down and tarnish they’re images. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) himself said the hour (Day of Judgement) would not come until there are people who seem clothed but they are in reality naked. Now take a second, look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself are you one of the signs of the day of reckoning? Just remember… If you are seen beautiful in the eyes of The Creator, who cares what His creations think.
